The first one was for Elizabeth, the daughter of one of my sister's co-workers. I was new to carving shaped cakes, so I thought I did a great job at the time. I loved the cornelli lace trim and the royal icing cross necklace.
The next time I was asked to do a Christening gown, I knew I wanted the shape to be less square and more flowing. I was much happier with this attempt! I loved the tiny pink fondant rosebuds - they looked so sweet! The pink fondant plaque with the baby's name and Christening date was a request of her mom, so I added it even though it detracted from the dress.
For Ashlynn's cake, I wanted to make it similar to her Christening gown. I took several pictures and had them on hand to keep me on the right track. I think it turned out to be the best one yet! I love the shape, and the piped Crosses and lace trim. I did realize after the party that I forgot to add details to the bottom cross on the right - ugh!
